Another wonderful Thanksgiving in the desert–from our first view of the 49 Palms Oasis to a visit from the Tooth Fairy. Witt’s End is on of our favorite annual traditions!

We spent two days on the bed-swing, grilling, looking at stars and getting a tan. Thank you *so* much for having us. This place is magical and wonderful. The meteor shower was beautiful, thanks for providing extra blankets. I got to have the most amazing weekend and this adorable house made it possible.
P.S. try grilling green apples! So good.

This was our second visit with Joshua Deserts Resorts (the first was in 2004). Each time we stayed for a month, and both visits were ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC. The houses were superbly fitted out with all we needed, the maintenance people were outstanding and so friendly and helpful, and the efficient and concerned help (which included rescheduling due to family illnesses both times) from John and Greg couldn’t be bettered. JDR is clearly a labour of love. Needless to say, the high desert of Wonder Valley and its environs gave us all we needed for two of our best vacations ever. We can’t wait to go back!

Greatest vacation ever–been spending our anniversary out here for several years and LOVE Zen-Go!. Our basset walked around with the insect glue trap stuck to her ear; quite a sight and the other hounds laughed at them. Can’t wait to return–

What a wonderful little bungalow in the desert! My husband took great joy in scaring me not once, but twice with the rattlesnake statue!! We actually got to see 2 rattlesnakes while hiking; a baby and full grown one.
The pics online really do not do this place justince…It was perfect! Peaceful, serene, absolutely RELAXING.
It was a great way to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We loved the hammock, the outdoor shower, and the hot tub by moon light and stars. We even saw some amazing shooting stars!

While travelling through California, we found this listing online and were still able to book it for later that week. We enjoyed it greatly. The views, the house, all of it. So different from the Netherlands, it is difficult to grasp. Now it is almost time to go back to the wet, green lands of home. Looking forward to that too though.

Message: What a lovely place to come to unwind and rejuvenate both body and soul. Loved the sunset and gorgeous sunrise streaming in through the sheer curtains stirring my from a pleasant and deep sleep. We were treated to a rare rain and lightning and thunder shower by Mother Nature overnight that cooled temperatures down nicely. I look forward to returning and trying out the other houses. Now I have an alternative place to get away for a lovely change in scenery.

Message: This is a beautiful place to restore depleted batteries! We’ve never been in such an environment (coming from wet, green Ireland) and we’ve loved every minute. I read Helen Bagley’s book, Sand in My Shoe, and recommend it to all who spend time here. With it and other books here about the history of Twentynine Palms I have become fascinated by the area, it’s people and it’s beautiful landscape. My husband and I have so enjoyed being surrounded by creatures of many types—the Gamball quail family are regulars, the cactus wren, the lizard whose tennihonj is just outside the kitchen door, the jackrabbit, bobtail and humming bird and many more. We really hope to return and sample more of this beautiful place.

Message: My stay here [at Todos Santos] was a graduation gift from friends and just what I needed after the hectic pace of grad school. This is the most peaceful place I’ve ever been; the park is gorgeous as is Mojave National Preserve which I recommend people check out while they are here. And of course, the cabin is fantastic. Yesterday morning, I was in the hammock reading when a huge jackrabbit came up to nibble at the tree. He was so close I could’ve touched him! Awesome place, I’ll definitely be back.

There are so many things we have enjoyed in the past few days while chilling out here but we’re (happily!) too relaxed to list them all. So…thank you for creating such a rejuvenating escape! The harmony of these surroundings has had a restorative affect on us–YAY!!

Message: I’ve been meaning to contact you. We have friends that when they travel, go to the same place year after year. I NEVER thought I would be like that and always prided myself on going someplace different every time we travel (preferably in the desert though). Well, after staying at the Adobe, I can see ourselves there every year!! It was the ULTIMATE desert experience! We stayed up til the wee hours EVERY night just watching stars and listening to coyotes and owls by the firelight. It was absolutely perfect in every way and went above and beyond exceeding my expectations! Thank you so much to all of you that make this possible for people! I’ve enticed several friends by posting photos of our experience on facebook while we were there.
And YES, I received the deposit refund. It’s been laying in a pile of mail since we got home. Thanks for jogging my memory. I took care of it yesterday. Thank you for the t shirt too.
Again, a million thank you for the ultimate vacation!
We will be making reservations for next spring. :)
